D-Day +1

Well, nothing much to update other than she's just not here yet, :(.  I had my doctors appointment today and her heartbeat is strong, still about 2 cm dilated.  She measured my tummy which is 41.  We talked about how if she doesn't come this weekend we'll probably look to induce on Wed.... so she won't be a January baby then, but February. Which isn't so bad because the birthstone Amethyst is way prettier than Garnet. Lol. (Gotta look at the bright side!!) and if she is born on Wednesday her Birthday will be February. 2, 2011. 2-2-11, kind of cool. *meh*
I just really hope she's born soon so that my family can be there to enjoy her arrival too.  We're getting way way excited and antsy in the pantsy, so it's hard to do the waiting game.  Well, send labor prayers my way everyone, I sure could use em'.

40 Weeks

So yesterday/today was my due date.... and still nada!!! :(  I think this little girl is going to be a procrastinator!!! (just like daddy... hehe) Or is she going to be my fashionably late princess??  Either way, I am physically and emotionally ready to have her here (as is Nick) and although I am not looking forward to the pain of labor, I am more than willing to endure it if the end goal is that my little Evelyn is in my arms snug and warm SOON!
It really sucked today when everyone was messaging me, texting me, calling me and so on asking if she's here yet... the worst part was saying "no not yet" *sigh*.  I want more than anything to say "YEP, I'm pushing as we speak!!!"  So everyone, just help me to be patient (because that is not one of my many ;) virtues)  and take it as it comes.
Sleeping has pretty much become non-existent to me already,  it's extremely difficult getting comfortable when you essentially have a bowling ball protruding from your midsection.  Just to get up for my hourly bathroom call is getting ridiculous, having to literally pick your stomach up and try and haul it around!!  Not to mention Nick snores ("breathes heavy" so he says) so loud I have to shake him and wake him up just to try and fall back asleep before he does. :D  He does make a good poll though when I need to get up, so, thanks hunny!! :)
We have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning at 9:50am and if she isn't here by then I'm going to ask my doctor if she could please have me induced before the beginning of next week so that my family will be able to attend the arrival of our little (probably not so little) bundle of joy!!  I really hope that can be accomplished because next week is going to be an extremely long week for my family.  I'd also like to ask everyone to pray for my brother as he begins his chemotherapy treatments this next week, they are 5 hours long each day.  I hope they go smoothly for you Bubba and we/you have every success in your treatment.  I love you very much and can't wait for Evelyn to meet her Uncle Carl!!!  I know you're going to be a great Uncle even though you're a little awkward with children, but she'll break ya in for your following nieces and nephews and someday your own children. :)
And this is what a 40 week pregnant woman looks like if you didn't already know that:

Evelyn's got a sharp looking pad!!

We set up Evelyn's crib (in our room, one bedroom apartment!!) a couple weeks ago, and put her bedding on about 2 weeks ago, but I thought I'd let everyone see!! :)  I absolutely wanted a jungle theme no matter the sex of the child, and Nick agreed, but when we found out that we were having a girl he wanted more of a girly theme. Well, this bedding was the perfect compromise!! Evelyn will have a girly jungle theme!! YAY!! It's super cute and cozy, we love it! Now she just needs to be born so she can come and enjoy it.  Sleep well in it little lovely Evelyn, I'm sure there will be plenty of times my poor baby will be crying in it but it'll be her little home for a couple years to come.  Crib to toddler bed, how smart indeed!! I'm a practical type of gal so thank you to modern baby amenities, there's always more than one use for something!! :)

Doctor Appointment

So we had another doctors appointment today, I'm 1-2cm dilated.  My doctor "swept" my membranes to hopefully speed up the process a little faster because my doctor doesn't want me to be too late.  I'm hoping it doesn't take too long.  As far as weight goes, my doctor says Evelyn is around 8 pounds. :) So little lady isn't so little, but her heartbeat is big and strong!!
We're really excited, we can't wait for her to make her grand debut.  We think it's time to try and help the process along, time for spicy food, walking, swimming, and... whatever else will help us.  I just found out today that I can in fact swim in the pool, which if I had known that I could, I would have been doing so for the past several weeks. :( So I'm slightly ticked off. Lol.
Hurry up Evelyn, hurry up please.  I want to hold you in my arms.  The doctor said she could come anytime between now and 2 weeks away, but they don't want her to come that late.

Hello!!! 39 Weeks here!!!

Well, it's a lovely Wednesday in January, about a week away from my due date which is January 25th/26th.  I am hoping to have my lovely little love soon, because I am running out of belly room for the little squirmer.  She already liked to kick mommy but now she just seems to like shoving her little bitty feet into my lungs and ribs. :) Not to mention I think she pokes at my bladder and says "this seems like an inconvenient time, time to pee mommy!!!" lol.
I already love Evelyn so very very much, we are just tickled silly to know that we are soon going to have our daughter in our arms.  I know I'm going to be that first time mom that stays up all night just to make sure she is breathing, I mean I already don't get any sleep and she's not here yet!  Also, Nick promised to help me when she has those exploding poopy diapers... yeah, not looking forward to that one! I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful husband that is already wrapped around her little finger and willing to do anything for her. :)  She's going to be so loved and well cared for but hopefully not too spoiled... that's right Aunties and Grandparents.... lay off the sweets and toys, she's going to have plenty I'm sure! :)
So, I wanted to start out her blog with pictures of her that lead up to her birth:
